Where It All Began

Around fifty years ago, a seven-year-old boy stepped into the ring for the very first time. He was handling an Irish Setter puppy bred by his family. Everything was going fine, until it was his turn in front of the judge.

Overwhelmed by nerves, the young boy burst into tears, handed the puppy’s leash to the judge, and ran out of the ring.

Fifty years later, that same boy has gone on to earn over 800 Best in Show wins, handle four dogs to Number One All Breeds, and in 2015, lead the beloved Beagle Miss P to the pinnacle of success: Best in Show at the Westminster Kennel Club.

That little boy was me.

I share this story to remind you, we all start somewhere.

A New Chapter

After an incredible career in professional handling, I’ve officially retired from the ring and begun my journey as a judge. I'm also passionate about education in our sport. I'm doing my best to share what I’ve learned, and continue learning every day.

My goal is to offer educational, engaging, and accessible content to help others grow, succeed, and enjoy their time in the world of purebred dogs.
